Anyone remember Automan?

Essential saturday night TV back in the day. Automan was about a car that drives REALLY fast! What more could a 10 year old boy want out of a TV show?!

I had the Knight Rider album-book. Still do in fact! F***ing hell… a talking car!!!

Automan was basically a rip-off of Knight Rider, Streethawk and Airwolf!

Is that a challenge? OK answer these questions:

1) What make of car was Kitt adapted from?
2) What soap was David Hasselhof in before he joined Knight Rider?
3) When Kitt appeared to drive itself, how was this stunt performed?

And you're not allowed to use the internet! No cheating now.

1) 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am
2) Starcrash
3) A stunt driver was INSIDE the driver seat!

What was Super-Pursuit Mode for?
What was Michael Knight's original name?
Where did the red scanner idea come from?

1) correct - bloody hell, u got the year too!
2) wrong - Young and the Restless
3) almost - there was a small hole in the driver seat and the driver sat behind it - somehow

1) Super pursuits! Going really fast.
2) Michael Long (OK - I cheated for this)
3) From David Hasselhof's trouser press which made a swooshing noise when the red 'finished' light came on (probably)

Talking of the 80s - I'm going to see Ferris Bueler's Day Off at a cinema in a few weeks. It's still one of my fave films. Woo hoo! Can't wait to see it on the big screen!
