The bloody oak tree
As equally as I always want what I can't have, I also don't want what I've been given on a plate. A seed of doubt about the new girlf not being 'the one' has grown to gigantic oak tree proportions. I'm enjoying going out with her but there's a bloody big tree in the way now.

Happy New Year to you too.
A big tree between you and a girl you've wanted to go out with for eight years? Wow, how come the acorn wasn't there before? Hope it works out!
Guess I couldn't see the wood for the trees!
ha ha ha!
also, does she need to be 'the one' at this stage anyway? or are you a 'love at first sight' kinda guy?!
I suppose I'm always on the look out for 'the one' and as soon as I get a doubt that she might not be then there doesn't seem any reason to carry on with it. While I'm with her I might be missing out on getting together with 'the one'. But I suppose you never know what might develop.
I don't know, maybe it's just me. Maybe I just like my independence too much. :( It's just so annoying that whenever I'm single I want to be coupled up and vice versa.
always the way! the grass is always greener...
I know what's going to happen though: I'll have doubt after doubt; tell myself I'm being stupid; decide not to listen to my stupid head; fall in love; then, and only then, they'll decide that they've changed their minds and I will be well and truly dumped!
that happens to me a lot. if they haven't dumped me before anything's even started. which seems to be happening a lot. well, i say a lot, the last two guys (which are the only two in the last two years!). lead me on then change their minds. why do guys do that?
Hey - girls do it too. Last year I got dragged all the way to the Lake District for a 'romantic' holiday only to be dumped on the second day. Why she couldn't tell me her feelings on the phone before I took the 400 mile journey I'll never know!
Indeed. Although if it was a 'romantic' holiday, at least she was your proper girlfriend in the first place!
